TOURNAMENT SANCTIONING OVERVIEW
Tournament sanctioning is available to MYSA members in good standing. Tournament sanctioning ensures that tournaments are upholding MYSA, USYS and USSF rules and policies regarding game-play and risk management. Applications must be completed prior to the start of the event. The steps to complete the process are outlined below.
TOURNAMENT SANCTIONING PROCESS
Background checks are valid on a calendar year basis (January 1 through December 31).
All adults must complete a background check on or after November 1, 2024 in order to be eligible for participation in the Spring 2025 or Fall 2025 season. Adults must pass the background check before participating in any activities.
Step 1: Complete the tournament sanctioning application through the Tournament Center. Completing this step also completes the required US Youth Soccer form automatically. Click on “Sign In” to get started by Visiting the Tournament Center
Step 2 (ONLY for International Tournaments: Complete this step only if you are hosting an International Tournament involving foreign teams. In this case, the U.S. Soccer Federation requires an additional application through their website and requires an additional $200 fee upon submission of that application.
USSF Tournament Sanctioning Application
Step 3: Pay the Tournament Sanctioning Fee. The fee will be invoiced to you by MYSA shortly after a tournament sanctioning application is submitted.
Tournament Sanctioning Fees:
- Festival / Jamboree: $150
- MYSA-Only: $300
- National: $400
- International: $500 (U.S. Soccer Federation fees also apply)
POST TOURNAMENT REPORTING
Within 30 days of the conclusion of your sanctioned tournament, you must complete your post tournament report, which consists of the following three documents:
