Due to the government restrictions on gathering sizes, we will not be holding a 2020 Annual General Meeting, however, we will still hold elections, vote on rule proposals and address all members using virtual platforms.
Our current bylaws do not allow us to hold a virtual AGM so instead we will:
Host virtual Town Hall meetings to talk about upcoming rule proposals
Email members an official ballot as authorized by Minnesota Statute 317A.447
Host a virtual "State of the State" presentation on July 21 that will include the annual report, budget, rules proposal results and election results
Two Rule Proposals were submitted this year that we will ask everyone to vote on using an electronic or mail-in ballot. The MYSA Board presents the following for vote by the membership:
Please note: rules will go into effect for the 2021-2022 Soccer Year. Both clubs who are proposing rules included this in their original rule proposals and if passed, MYSA will not have to make these changes before the start of the 2020-2021 Soccer Year on September 1, 2020; the changes would go into effect September 1, 2021.
1.Community Club Registration for 14U Rule Proposal | proposed by CC United
Proposed rule suggestion would promote players to play for their local clubs, thus playing with their friends and schoolmates.

2. Registration Change for 12U rule Proposal | proposed by Great River SC
Soccer is the only sport in the state requiring registration a year in advance. At the younger ages kids/parents choose not to play soccer because of the long timeframe from registration to the actual season.

The Rule Proposers will present their proposed changes in a virtual town hall meeting the week of June 8. This would be the time for voting members to ask questions and learn more about the rule proposals.
MYSA will facilitate the meeting, however, this is not a formal meeting run by Robert's Rules, nor will there be any voting. This is simply a forum for presentation and discussion.

MYSA Board Positions of Vice President and Treasurer are elected in even-numbered years, which means nominations are now open.

Nomination forms must be submitted by Wednesday, June 10, 2020. Voting members Presidents will be emailed a ballot with the nominees.

All MYSA Affiliate Members in good standing are entitled to vote. Voting will be done by ballot this year since there will not be an in-person AGM.
Only MYSA Affiliate Members in good standing are entitled to vote.
The number of votes per club will be included on your ballot.

Ballots must be returned to MYSA by Monday July 13, 2020.
