2018 MYSA Fall State Championships

Dates: October 13–14, 2018 | Rochester area hotels

MYSA will administer the fall season-ending State Championship for boys and girls: 11U, 12U, 13U and 14U in all competitive levels. Teams that wish to be considered must be registered no later than October 5, 2018. Teams qualify for the state championships tournament from fall league standings which are finalized on October 7.

Registration and Qualification

Interested teams are strongly encouraged to register for the event prior to the deadline. Registration is completed by team managers in their MYSA Affinity system access. Late registrations cannot be accepted.

Qualification “seeds” are awarded to highest finishing team, in a league bracket, who register for the championships. In leagues with combined levels (C1, C2, C3), one seed will be awarded for each level in the combined bracket. When needed, “wildcard” seeds are awarded to balance tournament brackets. Wildcard teams are the “best of the rest” of registered teams in an age flight, based on all league standings points and tie breakers. At large seeds are available for limited MYSA Fall teams who were not placed in normal MYSA leagues, due to a lack of enrollment in certain flights.

Each age group flight has specific qualifications for the tournament. Team managers and coaches will be sent these details prior to the start of the Fall season.

Tournament Format (Subject to Change)

All teams are guaranteed two games in the weekend event. The size and format of a tournament is based on the total number of MYSA teams in a specific age and level. The following formats are used in the MYSA Fall State Championships:

  • Four-team brackets will play a single-elimination round on Saturday and either a Championship or Consolation game on Sunday.
  • Six-team brackets will guarantee teams two games of pool play (10-point system) on Saturday with the top four teams advancing to Sunday semi-finals and the winners of the semi-final games advancing to the Championship game.
  • Eight-team brackets will guarantee teams two games of pool play (10-point system) on Saturday with the top four teams advancing to Sunday semi-finals and the winners of the semi-final games advancing to the Championship game.
