2020–2021 Leagues Overview

Minnesota League One (MNL1)

13U–19U Boys & Girls:

  • Most competitive state league with promotion/relegation and is comprised of three tiers*: First Division, Premier II and Premier I
  • Typically, MN League One teams compete in USYS Presidents Cup and/or Minnesota State Cup and/or USYS National League
  • ~10 games are played between January—July with teams scheduling their own game times, days and locations

Minnesota Futures League

11U–12U Boys & Girls:

  • Rosters can change on game day, and typically, clubs in Futures will have a pool of players to create game day teams from that pool
  • Clubs must have curriculum, facilities and appropriate staff
  • Four games September–October, one optional winter event, six games early spring/summer and Junior State Cup (teams schedule their own game times, days and locations)

Minnesota Black & Blue Leagues

9U–19U Boys & Girls:

  • Designed for multi-sport or seasonally-committed athletes
  • Teams placed in leagues based on their geographic location
  • Six games Labor Day–mid October, 10 games May–July and State Championships
