Minnesota State Cup Referee Registration

Thank you for your interest in refereeing in the 2008 US Youth Soccer Minnesota State Cup, the premier tournament in Minnesota. The 2008 Minnesota State Cup is designed to select the Minnesota league team at each age level and gender to represent Minnesota at the US Youth Soccer Regional Championships. Regional winners U14-U19 will go on to compete in Nationals. This is a tremendous opportunity for MYSA soccer teams and players and will bring the “best” of the “best” into competitive play and promises many exciting matches.

In order to be considered for assignment of games, you will need to completely fill out the registration form. This tournament will be hosted April 25–June 8, 2008 at the Coon Rapids Soccer Complex.

Our objective is to maintain high quality referee standards at this premier tournament; with this in mind, only qualified applicants will be considered. Referees will be scheduled for 2–3 games per day per the referee assignor’s recommendation. All referees selected to participate must report to the Referee Assignor 30 minutes prior to game.

Referees should be over the age of 14 and have a referee grade 8 or above with at least three years of competitive experience at a grade 8 or above.

Referees selected to participate in Regionals, higher level referees and referees with the most experience, will be scheduled accordingly. During the tournament, referee assignments may change with regard to ability, assessments and recommendations.

Please provide references that can attest to your refereeing skills and abilities in the space provided. It is necessary to include name, club and telephone number of references to help us assure proper placement. All referees should expect to participate in an education session prior to the start of the tournament. Details of the education session will be given at a later time.

Applicant must provide Social Security Number upon MYSA confirming referee game schedule. The Social Security Number is required for payment, which will be processed within two weeks following the conclusion of all Minnesota State Cup games. PLEASE DO NOT provide your Social Security Number on this form.
