If any MYSA-sanctioned tournament has scheduling conflicts with an MYSA-sponsored event, the
MYSA-sponsored event takes precedence. The MYSA-sanctioned tournament will be responsible
for any rescheduling.
Locating Sanctioned Tournaments
Tournaments are sanctioned as International (may include foreign teams), National (may include USA teams not affiliated with MYSA) or MYSA-Only (include only teams affiliated with MYSA). Some tournaments will be offering two (2) or (4) weekends. This is not a mistake in posting! Each weekend will have specific requirements for participation as to age group/gender/division of play. Check the website for each date.

Individual tournament directors are responsible for making corrections to the information on this site. If you find errors, the best way to request corrections is by contacting the tournament's director rather than MYSA staff or officers. Use the MYSA tournament finder to locate tournaments meeting your teams requirements.
Coaches should review the advertised tournament dates and reschedule league games that might conflict as soon as league schedules are available. Failure to reschedule league games will result in a forfeit.

Invitational Tournament, Festival and Jamboree Planning for 2010
Hosting a tournament is not a decision to be made lightly or on the spur of the moment. Your club needs to have the level of commitment and resources needed to run a tournament BEFORE you make the decision. This includes volunteers, fields and referees, as well as a long list of other items. If you hosted a tournament/festival/jamboree during 2009, did you get a worthwhile return on your investment? What was the feedback that you received from the teams that participated and your volunteers? If you are a club deciding for the first time to host an event, does your club have the necessary starting capital to host a tournament that will attract teams?
Take a look at the 2009 tournament calendar and see how many tournaments there were in your area. Every year, some events are cancelled because they were unable to attract enough teams to proceed. The Minnesota tournament season is short and crowded, with multiple opportunities for teams to do something every weekend of the summer soccer season. For a new tournament to be successful, or to revive a long-standing tournament, organizers will need to be creative and think outside the box of conventional tournament planning.
Once your organization decides to proceed with a tournament (the decision being recorded in the minutes of a board meeting), the next step is to apply for sanctioning through the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association. There are several important deadlines that need to be met for hosting tournaments in 2010. They are as follows:

Clubs must be in good standing with MYSA before they will be considered for sanctioning. Also, if you hosted a tournament, festival or jamboree in 2009, ALL of the post-tournament reports must be filed with the MYSA office in a timely manner before you will be considered for 2010. This includes the referee report with the list of referees and the games they officiated. Questions can be directed to Tom Moriarty, MYSA Tournament Director at mysatd@mnyouthsoccer.org or to Norine Olson at norineolson@mnyouthsoccer.org.

In an effort to help automate the tournament reporting process, MYSA has created typeable pdfs that can be submitted electronically. The report has been broken down into four (4) parts:
Typeable PDF Instructions: These forms can be filled out (typed) online with your computer and then printed. Simply click on the areas to type and then you may tab around the document.
Adobe Acrobat users: You are able to save, email or modify your file.
Adobe Reader users: You are able to print only. This will require mailing or dropping off the forms.
