Participating Teams: A list of participating teams can be found on the public side of Affinity by accessing the 2017 MYSA Summer Post-Season Registration and clicking on Brackets or clicking here: List of Participating Teams. Once schedules are published, teams will be able to access their schedules and brackets through their Affinity access using the same method that they would access their League schedules.
The penalty for withdrawing from the Post-Season at this point is the $65 registration fee and a $200 forfeit fee for the team’s first scheduled game. No exceptions.
Rules: See MYSA Rules Manual Section 4.4 MYSA Sponsored Tournaments. Specific rules for Qualifiers can be found in Section 18.104.22.168 Qualification for State Tournament and Procedures for League Playoffs.
A team will automatically advance to the 2017 MYSA Summer State Championships by winning their Qualifier Playoff games. In some Qualifier Brackets, only one team registered for the post season, those teams will automatically advance to the State Championships.
In some State Championships Flights, Wildcard seeds are needed to balance the number of participating teams in the State Championships. Wildcards seeds will be awarded to the Runners-Up of the Qualifier Playoffs with the highest finish in Competitive League Play (based on points, then tie-breakers). A team must advance to the final game of their Qualifier Playoff to be eligible for a Wildcard seed.
Flights with three brackets or less in Competitive Play will play in a single-elimination “Final Four” format for the State Championships; flights with four brackets or more in Competitive Play will play in a round- robin “Pool Play” format for State Championships.
Once all advancing teams are set, the MYSA will hold a 2017 MYSA Summer State Championships draw prior to pool play scheduling. The tentative date for the draw will be Wednesday July 19, with brackets and schedules to be announced shortly after. C3 will be released first and C1 and C2 will be released after.
The C3 MYSA Summer State Championships will be held in Mankato or Rochester on July 21–23. The C1 and C2 MYSA Summer State Championships will be held at various sites in the metro area July 26–29.
