MYSA Referee Academy

[Updated: 07/28/2009]

Minnesota Youth Soccer Association and the State Youth Referee Administrator continue to be committed to raising the quality of soccer participation and officiating in the state of Minnesota.

The academies are designed to give certified referees additional experience and instruction so that they may gain confidence in their refereeing ability. MYSA offers two different academies based on experience level.

Referee Academy

This Academy is for CERTIFIED referees only.  It is not a certification clinic but an academy designed to give certified referees additional experience.

2010 Dates: TBD

Cost: $50 per participant

Location: TBD

The Referee Academy is a three-evening program scheduled in conjunction with MYSA Regionals and will take place from approximately 4:30–9:00 pm each night. Referees applying for this academy should not sign up to referee Regional games. Academy participants will be assigned games and paid through the academy.

This academy is open to certified youth referees ages 14-20 with a minimum of one year experience. Participants in this Academy will receive both theoretical instructions in a classroom setting and practical training refereeing at MYSA Regional games. Academicians will also receive a Referee Academy t-shirt, classroom materials and dinner each night.
