MYSA Fall State Championships

Dates: October 15–16, 2016

Location: Rochester, Minn. | Rochester hotels

Fee: $275 due at check-in before your first game at the championship headquarters. This fee includes all referee fees. If your team opts in and chooses not to participate after qualification, a fine of $200 will be imposed in addition to the $275 entry fee.

Qualification: Teams who have opted-in to the State Championships by the September 29, 2016 deadline will be eligible for qualification based on their standings within their league. All league winners are guaranteed a spot in the State Championships and in some cases, wildcard spots will be awarded to the team with the next highest points. Qualifying teams will be notified on Monday October 10, 2016 with specific instructions and tournament rules. Game schedules will be released on Tuesday October 11, 2016.

MYSA administers a fall season-ending State Championship for the following leagues for both boys and girls: U11, U12, U13 and U14 for all competitive divisions. A minimum of four and a maximum of eight teams participate in each division based on league standings.

  • Awards will be given to the first and second place teams.
  • Seeds may change in each district depending upon the participation response after the sign up deadline.
  • Four-team brackets will play a single-elimination round and either a Championship or Consolation game for a guarantee of two games.
  • Six-team brackets will be guaranteed three games of pool play with the top two teams advancing to the Championship game.
  • Eight-team brackets will be guaranteed two games of pool play with the top four teams advancing to the semi-finals and the winners of the semi-final games advancing to the Championship game.
  • In the six and eight-team brackets, teams will advance out of pool play by accruing the highest number of points using the 10-point system.
