Parents and Coaches Together

[Updated: 4/16/2013]

As a parent or coach, would you like your child/athlete to:

  • Enjoy their participation in soccer more?
  • Be more motivated to play and improve?
  • Have an improved sense of self through competition?

Parents and Coaches Together (PACT) is an educational program developed at the University of Notre Dame’s Center for Ethical Education and Development. The program is:

  • Based on research from developmental, educational, and sport psychology.
  • Designed to help coaches and parents to be on the same page in successfully creating a positive and motivating climate in Minnesota youth soccer.
  • Presented by experienced trainers approved by the University of Notre Dame.

MYSA/PACT™ Mission:

  • Empower coaches and parents to realize their unique roles in fostering athlete intrinsic motivation, character development, optimal performance, well-being and satisfaction.

For more information on how a club may become involved in the PACT program, contact Ivan Woyno, MYSA Director of Member Services, at 952-252-0226 (800-366-6972) or ivanwoyno@mnyouthsoccer.org.

Seminar Schedule

We are pleased you have committed to take part in the PACT training. This is a full two-hour session in a casual setting. Materials will be presented to you by instructors trained and approved by the University of Notre Dame. Your instructor will use video, a PowerPoint presentation and discussion to deliver the PACT message. You will receive a manual filled with additional materials and references for use as you progress through the soccer year. Successful candidates will receive a regular PACT e-newsletter with additional information and tips in creating the best soccer climate for Minnesota’s youth.

The winter/spring PACT seminar season has come to an end. No additional seminars will be held until the fall.  Come back and check out fall seminar schedule in August 2013.
